Like most volunteer organizations, adequate staffing levels are dependent upon the generous and selfless commitment of our local citizens. This generally includes assessing the patient, determining the proper emergency care, and administering treatment. Our highly trained EMS personnel respond to medical emergencies and deliver patient care, support, and evaluation in a pre-hospital setting, such as on scene and during transport to the hospital. The goal of this organization is to improve not only response times but also the overall quality of service that our residents receive. Our staff of paid professionals are directly supervised by the township and held to the highest standards. The Division of EMS, led by Director, Robert Baran, operates 24-hours a day, 7-days a week and services every portion of the township. Manchester Township launched a township-run Emergency Medical Services on March 1, 2020. Although the township does employ professional EMTs to handle EMS calls, the township’s fire companies are entirely staffed by volunteers who devote much of their time to serving the citizens of Manchester Township. The Division of Emergency Services is comprised of a township-run EMS and three volunteer fire companies. These agencies and the men and women who staff them provide emergency response, emergency medical services, public safety education, and fire prevention, response and suppression.
